Loving Sacrifice

There was a blind girl who hated herself because of being blind. Not only did she hate herself but she hated everyone else, except her loving boyfriend.  He was always there for her.
She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One lucky day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. She then saw everything, including her boyfriend.  Her boyfriend then asked her, "Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" She was SHOCKED when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too.  She said, "I am sorry but I can't marry you because you are blind and it will be too hard."  Her boyfriend walked away with tears and said, "Please just take care of my eyes."

The result is that my tongue gets badly burnt.

My divine pride drinks the same hot water,

   nay, infinitely more in quantity, but it uses a spoon to drink with.

So I suffer not.

And this spoon is the Spoon of Liberation,

My human pride wants the world to understand me,

    my love, my help and sacrifice.

My divine pride, which is the feeling of oneness with all in God,

   does not wish the world to understand my selfless activities.

It feels that if God understands me, knows my motives,

    then there can be no greater reward.

غرور زميني ام مي خواهد تا جهانيان مرا،

عشقم را، ياري و از خود گذشتگي ام را درك كنند.
غرور الهي كه احساسي از وحدت همه چيز در وجود خداست،
آرزو نمي كند كه جهانيان از خود گذشتگي هايم را درك كنند،
معتقد است گر خدا نيتم را و خودم را دريابد بس است
و هيچ پاداشي زين گرانقدرتر نيست.
